Abstract
This paper describes the working of an end-to-end hierarchical blockchain-based voting system, presented as a fully automated, secure, and highly scalable online alternative to traditional methods of voting such as electronic voting machines, which require labor-intensive manual tallying. The system is divided into a hierarchy of clusters with self-contained blockchains, which aids in scalability by reducing the intensive network traffic common to traditional blockchains. It also drastically reduces computation time for election results by performing intermediate computations on votes while passing them to higher levels in the hierarchy and utilizing parallel processing capabilities for vote tallying.
