Abstract
This paper explains online grooming, which facilitates the abuse of children and is a menace all over the world as far as youth are concerned. The paper relies on definitions, events, and characteristics of online grooming to plunge into the depths of interaction between predators and the youths over the internet. The review links child sexual abuse theories and internet behaviors that apply in this scenario. The paper is talking about the protests of children on the internet (sending Snapchats to strangers, sharing personal information), as well as the various manipulation strategies of online groomers (flattery, bribing, threats, etc.). Even though the models and typologies can guide the professionals to comprehend this crime, the unique and heterogeneous character of the internet offenders, victims, and their relationships must be recognized. It is important to understand the nature of online groomers to formulate interventions that would mitigate this predatory activity. In particular, the review states that online grooming of youth is a subject whose research is limited. It highlights the fact that additional researches are required in order to develop on the available studies in this field.
