Privacy-Aware GPS Tracking System for Smart Applications

Abstract
A privacy-aware GPS tracking system is essential for modern smart applications where location data is widely used but user trust must be preserved. This study proposes a secure and efficient GPS-based tracking framework that balances accurate positioning with strong privacy protection. The system integrates techniques such as data anonymization, encryption, and user-controlled access to ensure that sensitive location information is not misused or exposed. It is designed to support applications in smart cities, transportation, healthcare, and IoT environments, where continuous tracking is often required. The proposed model minimizes data leakage risks while maintaining real-time performance and reliability. Additionally, it incorporates adaptive privacy settings, allowing users to customize how their data is shared based on context. Experimental analysis demonstrates that the system achieves a practical trade-off between usability and privacy. This approach contributes to building trustworthy and scalable location-based services in increasingly connected digital ecosystems.
