Abstract

For citizens without a legal background, comprehension of statutory frameworks, judicial decisions, and dynamic legal amendments has not been easy. Although there has been a broadening of digital access, legal knowledge is curtailed by complex terminology, outdated information, and fragmented sources. This work presents a transformer-oriented legal advisory system, which delivers context-aware legal explanations, preliminary case insight, constitutional information, and statutory interpretation in an interactive conversational interface. The system combines domain-adapted NLP, semantic retrieval, secure multi-tier architecture, and explainability methods to enhance reliability and user trust. Findings also suggest that retrieved provisions are of greater relevance, interpretability is significantly enhanced, and non-legal users are becoming more aware. The paper addresses ethical concerns, security mechanisms, and future research directions like multilingual expansion and integration with institutional judiciary platforms.
