State-of-The-Art Holographic Traffic Control System for Future Traffic Environment

These days there is tremendous demand for the integration of technology into vehicles. Due to advance automotive engineering, there are several potential distracters added into the driving situation. Traffic control devices (TCS) play a major role of communication between the driving environment and drivers. But there are many confounding factors such as delays, accidents, improper functioning of traffic lights, traffic volume etc. may mislead the drivers. Holographic style traffic displays are the latest technological developments which can be used as a replacement of current traffic light system. The objective of this paper is to explore the usage of holographic technology to replace the current traffic light system to ensure driver safety. This paper summarizes the limitations of current traffic system and draws the attention to implement holographic style traffic signals. This ensures improved safety, guidance, control and navigation compared to the traffic light systems.
