Micro-Level Analysis through NIRS Sensor of Lignocellulosic Biomass for Bioreactor Application

Abstract

Agricultural waste has great potential as renewable resource for production of bioproducts. Their proper utilization is necessary for studying their chemical composition. The reaction rate and efficiency of biodegradation are affected by presence of cellulose, lignin, hemicellulose. The traditional methods of knowing this content are time consuming, expensive, inappropriate and may give errors for quick results. Therefore, Near-infrared spectroscopy has gaining attention for quick, errors free, eco-friendly results. This method does not require chemical reagents or large samples. The study is based on characterization of lignocellulosic biomass from agricultural waste. This study highlights importance of Near-infrared spectroscopy based on quick analysis and process optimization.
