Analyzing Emerging Cybersecurity Threats in IoT Applications and Service Domains

Abstract
The research paper talks about the growing security threats in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT) applications and services because of the proliferation of connected devices, disclosing vulnerability to more sophisticated attacks, jeopardizing data integrity, confidentiality, and system reliability. The literature review, methods of threats modelling and case studies that represent various industries, such as healthcare, smart cities, and industrial automation, the analysis decomposes the emergent risks of unauthorized access, malware distribution, and malfunctioning of the supply chains. The key takeaways include the fact that threats tend to have weak authentication protocols and firmware vulnerabilities that lead to the downfall of the grand networked ecosystem. The outstanding conclusion is the need to respond to an integrated approach to security, the importance of possessing active threat intelligence and homogeneous procedures to mitigate the threats and develop resilient IoT structures that eventually improve the security of important services in a more digitized world.
