Abstract

To ensure optimal performance, these batteries require a reliable battery management system (BMS). The smart BMS outlined in this article is suitable for any device equipped with lithium-ion battery banks. This system includes tools for monitoring, evaluating, and diagnosing the health and efficiency of lithium-ion batteries. This paper explores the design and implementation of an electric vehicle (EV) using a Brush-less DC (BLDC) motor, a Battery Management System (BMS), and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. As the use of EVs increases, optimizing motor efficiency and battery health becomes crucial for both performance and sustainability. The BLDC motor was selected for its ability to provide precise control and require less maintenance compared to traditional motors, making it ideal for EV applications. The BMS plays a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient operation by monitoring and managing the battery's temperature, charge level, and overall condition. Additionally, with IoT integration, key metrics such as motor performance, battery health, and energy consumption can be monitored remotely, allowing for real-time data collection. This algorithm can detect and categorize possible issues, including cell degradation, thermal runaway, and voltage irregularities, by analyzing the gathered data. To improve communication and data sharing, the smart battery system features wireless connectivity, enabling smooth integration with the vehicle's on board computer and external diagnostic tools.
