NLP Chatbot for Answering Local Civic Queries

Abstract

The efficient availability of the municipal information is one of the keys to increased citizen engagement and decreased administration workload. The article is a design and development of a chatbot based on NLP to answer civic questions locally. The system employs the techniques of natural language processing to comprehend the will of the user, identify the correct entities and answer to the common questions to several municipal services appropriately. The modular architecture is adopted and comprises of modules such as intent classification, entity recognitions and response productions, inmates of a civic knowledge base. As it is experimentally proven, the chatbot is able to deliver prompt and dependable information and makes it faster than the traditional helpdesk system. Its findings indicate that it can be used to improve the accessibility of services, simplify civic support operations, and be used as a scalable digital helper in the launch of smart governance endeavors.
