Abstract
The construction industry frequently faces challenges in maintaining quality control during various phases of construction, which can lead to costly rework and delays. To overcome this issue, this paper presents an Automated Construction Defect Monitoring System Using Image Processing, a technology-driven solution designed to monitor and ensure the quality of construction processes in real-time. By harnessing advanced image processing techniques, such as object recognition, edge detection, and pattern analysis, the proposed system automatically inspects construction elements such as concrete surfaces, bricklaying, and overall structural integrity. The system captures images via high- resolution cameras and processes them using algorithms to detect defects, irregularities, and non-compliance with construction standards. The results are then provided to site managers and construction engineers in the form of realtime feedback, enabling timely corrective actions. The integration of this automated system improves accuracy, reduces human error, and accelerates the overall quality assurance process in construction projects.
