Abstract
Metal dust generated in industrial processes poses significant health and environmental risks. For mitigating the health effects, a dust extraction solution often combines with accurate air quality monitoring. This paper discusses the impact of metal dust on human health, dust extraction systems and Air Quality Index (AQI) monitoring technologies to safeguard the workplace. A comprehensive review of current dust extraction techniques, including mechanical filtration and localized capture, is presented alongside developments in sensor-based AQI monitoring for continuous, real-time pollutant measurement and predictive analytics. The AQI monitoring enhances the efficiency and responsiveness of dust extraction systems by providing timely data on particulate concentrations, enabling dynamic system control and regulatory compliance.
