A Review of Software Defined Network Security

Abstract
Software Defined Networking (SDN) provides flexible, programmable networks with automation. It provides efficient network management with controller as it separates control and forwarding logic in control and data planes. SDN offers many advantages for enhanced network administration but it suffers from security issues like topology spoofing, bandwidth exhaustion and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks etc. There is enhancement of network security as the SDN architecture provides centralized control and programmability to networks. These same attributes pose various network security challenges also. Solutions to these problems can be controller replication schemes or use of authentication mechanisms. This paper discusses security analysis of SDN.
