Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies have made significant strides in transforming education, particularly in the development of assistive technologies for children with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs) such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). The Fun Writing Assistant, a computer-based writing system, uses AI to provide corrective feedback that addresses the challenges these children face in writing. Through the use of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and adaptive learning software, the system delivers a dynamic, interactive experience tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. The system continuously monitors a child's writing progress, identifying areas of difficulty and offering personalized feedback to improve spelling, letter formation. The system also incorporates gamification elements, such as progress indicators, rewards, and motivational aids, to encourage consistent practice and keep children engaged. Despite its potential, challenges remain, including unequal access to technology in disadvantaged communities, reliance on datasets that don’t fully capture handwriting variability, and a lack of emotional and psychological support. Future improvements could include emotion detection, speech recognition, enhanced offline features, support for multilingual students, and integrating AI feedback with human educator assistance for a more comprehensive learning experience
