A Review of Various Sentiment Analysis Techniques, Methodologies and their Applications

To be able to analyse and predict human emotions and sentiments with highest possible accuracy has been a hot topic both in the field of automated computing as well as psychology. The integrated process of analysing the emotions and sentiments of an individual through his/her speech, text, expressions, actions etc. is termed as Sentiment Analysis. With #MENTALHEALTHAWARENESS and #LOCKDOWN trending worldwide, Sentiment Analysis has gained a lot of significance in recent time. Technically, Sentiment Analysis is the synonym for Opinion Mining. This paper provides an overview of the sequential process of Opinion Mining as well as a review of various Opinion Mining techniques, methodologies and their applications considering ‘text’ as the mode of expression for an individual.
