Abstract
The energy sector has undergone a profound transformation with the integration of advanced communication and control technologies within intelligent grids. Although this evolution offers numerous advantages, it simultaneously introduces significant cyber security challenges. Consequently, adaptive grid security has developed as a critical research focus. This paper delivers a comprehensive examination of the smart grid, starting with an analysis of its inherent vulnerabilities and a categorization of prevalent attacks alongside their potential consequences. It further explores prevention and detection strategies, retaining suitable algorithms to address these threats. The study also addresses ongoing research obstacles and suggests future initiatives aimed at enhancing cyber security for adaptive grids. Emphasis is placed on the interplay between cyber security issues and technological shortcomings, highlighting specific areas necessitating increased focus to develop robust defenses against emerging threats. Through this approach, the research seeks to contribute to the fortification of adaptive grid resilience, securing the protection of critical energy infrastructure amid evolving risks.
