IoT-based Fire Monitoring System: A Simulated Implementation using Cisco Packet Tracer

Abstract
The growing adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into everyday life has greatly enhanced home security and automation. The following is a simulated application of an intelligent fire alarm system using Cisco Packet Tracer.[1] It identifies smoke using sensors and automatically initiates safety measures such as sounding alarms, activating sprinklers, and opening garage doors. It showcases real-time IoT device communication, automation by conditional logic, and server-based control through smartphones. The simulation gives a glimpse of the use of wireless networking and IoT to improve fire emergency response systems in smart homes.
