Intelligenie 2.0: Developing a Hardware-based Personal Assistant for Enhanced Digital Application Management and user Interaction

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has catalyzed a transformative era, streamlining the control and management of hardware devices via internet connectivity. This paper introduces a novel system built around the Raspberry Pi, designed to incorporate a sophisticated voicecontrolled interface with extensive functionalities. At the heart of this system lies the Raspberry Pi, serving as the central processing unit capable of handling commands and communicating through an internet connection facilitated by a Wi-Fi modem. The standout feature of this system is its voice control capability, leveraging ChatGPT to offer a dynamic conversational interface that allows users to pose questions and receive real-time, contextually relevant answers, thereby enhancing user interaction. This system significantly advances user interfaces by enabling voice commands to manage various applications—opening, closing, and adjusting settings without the need for manual interaction. Users can also control music playback through voice commands, choosing songs, playlists, or genres effortlessly. Additionally, the system extends to voice-controlled messaging, simplifying the way users send and receive text messages, thus streamlining communication processes. Further expanding its utility, the system incorporates elements of home automation. It utilizes relays connected to the Raspberry Pi to enable voice-activated control over home appliances such as lights and fans, enhancing convenience and accessibility. An integrated Liquid Crystal Display provides real-time updates on the status of these appliances, offering users a transparent view of their home automation system's operations. Overall, this innovative system not only demonstrates the Raspberry Pi's versatility in implementing advanced voice control for real-time home management but also underscores the profound impact of IoT technology in delivering multifunctional and usercentric hardware solutions. By fully integrating interactive voice technology into home automation, this system exemplifies the potential to enhance day-to-day convenience in a comprehensive, user-friendly package. ….
