Analysis of Preprocessing Algorithms for Face Detection using KNN and SVM Classifiers

Face detection using computer vision algorithm is undoubtedly an important technology in this modern world. The accuracy of the existing algorithms can be improved by analyzing the best preprocessing technique for a particular classifier. In this work, we implemented different preprocessing algorithms for two main classifiers namely KNN and SVM. With various combinations of existing preprocessing, segmentation and feature extraction algorithms, SVM classifier gives better accuracy of around 98%. The analysis is done using MATLAB 2018b software.
