Minimizing Energy Consumption in Wireless Sensor Network using Energy Remaining Greedy Algorithm

Abstract
Energy consumption and network lifetime are the two important factors for wireless sensor networks. Since the nodes are very low powered battery the lifetime of the network is decreased and hence the routing protocol cannot be applied. Power consumption is also one of the factors which reduce the lifetime. Aim of sleep scheduling algorithm is to analyze the behavior of nodes in the network. To save the network lifetime and its performance the energy remaining greedy algorithm have been proposed. The protocol which determines the density of each sub-region of node and find its density level of each node in order to match the network even in harsh environment. In order to preserve energy, we use energy scheduling scheme to decide which nodes have an eligibility to enter into sleep state. To verify and evaluate the proposed scheme, The Energy remaining greedy clustering algorithm has been evaluated in order to increase the throughput and residual energy parameter. To verify and evaluate, various simulation parameters were considered to extend the network lifetime. The experiment is conducted and it is evaluated using ns-2 simulator.
