Analyzing the Reducing Strength of Oxalic Acid and Sodium Thiosulfate through Graph Theory

Abstract
This research evaluates the plummeting controls of sodium thiosulfate (Na₂S₂O₃) and oxalic acid (C₂H₂O₄) using graph theory. The molecular structure of each molecule was modelled using Laplacian matrices. Oxalic acid was found to have lower index values using topological index analysis, but sodium thiosulfate displayed greater values. In addition, eigenvalue analysis shows that sodium thiosulfate has a larger spectral radius than oxalic acid, suggesting a stronger electron transfer potential. These outcomes are dependable with experimental indication, proving the helpfulness of graph theory in chemical studies and corroborative that sodium thiosulfate has a higher reducing power.
