A Mathematical Analysis to Identify Major Faults in Distribution System

Abstract

The reliability of a power distribution system is critical for ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers. Identifying major faults in the distribution network is essential for improving efficiency, minimizing downtime, and reducing maintenance costs. This study presents a mathematical approach to analyze and detect major faults in the distribution system using advanced fault location techniques, power flow analysis, and statistical methods. The proposed model leverages graph theory, machine learning algorithms, and optimization techniques to identify fault-prone areas and predict potential failures. By analyzing historical fault data and real-time system parameters, the study aims to develop an efficient framework for fault detection and localization. The results demonstrate that the proposed methodology can significantly enhance fault diagnosis accuracy and response time, leading to a more resilient and optimized power distribution network.
