Abstract
In emergencies like fires, gas leaks, and earthquakes, swift and safe evacuation is critical to protecting occupants in buildings. This paper introduces a "Smart Emergency Exit System Using Image Processing" to ensure swift and safe evacuation during emergencies. The system integrates YOLOv5-based image processing, Arduino controllers, and IR sensors to monitor the environment, detect dangers, and guide occupants. It provides warnings via buzzers and directs crowds toward less congested exits using light signals and audio cues. By dynamically adjusting evacuation routes in real-time, the system minimizes evacuation time, reduces risks of overcrowding, and enhances safety in large buildings and public spaces.
