Abstract

Blockchain based technology is suitable for immutable, transparent recording of data and transactions. This, allows to exchange anything having value, whether physical or something less tangible. The proposed application enables seamless peer-to-peer transactions, allowing producers of energy, such as homeowners with solar panels or businesses with excess capacity, to list their energy availability. Conversely, consumers ranging from residential households to industrial facilities can browse listings and make purchases on the basis of their energy needs. Transactions are executed securely and efficiently using crypto currency, with smart contracts automating the process to ensure transparency and trust. Additionally, the application incorporates features such as real-time energy monitoring, allowing users to track their energy usage and optimize consumption patterns. By bypassing traditional energy intermediaries and centralized utilities, users can access a more diverse range of energy sources and suppliers, promoting competition and driving down costs. By democratizing energy markets and promoting renewable energy, the application empowers users and fosters sustainability leading to heightened transparency, security, efficiency, and resilience. This paper investigates the development of a decentralized smart grid utilizing a Blockchain powered application.
