Abstract
The most important task in daily operations is related to indoor plant watering. No matter whichever weather it is, either too hot and dry or too cloudy and wet, one should be able to control the amount of water that reaches the plants. The plant watering automation provides a convenient and efficient solution for watering indoor plants. The automated watering system ensures that plants receive the right amount of water at right time. This can be specially useful for busy individuals who may forget to water their plants or for those who stay away from home for extended periods. Additionally, the use of line follower robot allows for targeted watering which improves plant growth and development. The use of line follower robot with Arduino Mega reduces the risk of over or under watering. Line follower robot interfaced with IR sensors is used for path detection. A path is set and the robot moves in the set path based on the output values given by these IR sensors. Arduino AT mega 2560 is used as the microcontroller and motor driver L298N is used to control the geared DC motor wheels.
