Abstract

The increase in damage due to fast deterioration of concrete in RC-structures has led to the need for cost effective and reliable rehabilitation methods. The purpose of rehabilitation is to restore the structural capacity and undo the damage caused to the structure. This paper discusses the method of rehabilitation of a beam, which failed in flexure and had undergone loss of rebar cover. The rehabilitation process restored the structural capacity of the beam and the results are compared with the results of a virgin beam of similar dimensions. The methods discussed in the paper are a reliable solution to the rehabilitation of RC beams with flexural damage and loss of dimensions.
