Abstract

Threats in the cyber world evolve incessantly, the sophistication and the frequency of malware attacks have reached a level that has never been seen before. This calls for an integrated approach to malware management. This paper outlines the sophisticated detection techniques along with the preventive frameworks for malware threats. We start by outlining the conventional approaches to malware detection and emphasize their inadequacy with increasingly sophisticated malicious enti- ties. From there, we go on to novel approaches-to the use of machine learning-based and behavior analysis-based algorithms and heuristic-based detection-with aims to enhance detection accuracy and speed. We also call for the incorporation of these detection techniques into a holistic preventive framework that encompasses real-time monitoring, sharing of threat intel- ligence, and incident response strategies. The results evidence how a multi-layered approach, combining advanced detection with proactive measures, can significantly enhance organizational resilience against malware attacks. This study, based on both technological innovation and best practices, focuses on the critical elements of a dynamic malware management strategy: identify and analyze threats but also expect and prevent impending attacks. Paper recommendations for further research in this area are put forward, along with practical implications for cyberse- curity professionals who wish to enhance their mechanisms in malware defence.
