Abstract
Medical imaging diagnostics stand at the forefront of technological advancements. And this work proposes a paradigm shift with the adoption of the Vision Transformer (ViT) model. This paper aims to redefine the landscape of diagnostic accuracy through the application of state-of-the-art AI. The transformer-based Vision Transformer (ViT) model is first created for natural picture identification, but due to its versatility, it has produced encouraging results in the field of medical imaging. Utilizing ViT's self-attention processes, the goal here is to improve the accuracy and comprehensibility of medical diagnosis. The study focuses on its application across diverse imaging modalities, including X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans, demonstrating ViT's versatility and accuracy in capturing intricate patterns. This methodology involves the careful fine-tuning of a pretrained ViT model on a comprehensive medical imaging dataset. Leveraging large-scale pretraining and transfer learning, ViT learns rich representations crucial for accurate diagnostics. The attention mechanisms inherent in ViT enable the model to weigh the significance of different image features, providing both global and local perspectives. Through extensive experimentation and analysis, this research showcases how the integration of the Vision Transformer model significantly enhances diagnostic accuracy. Beyond achieving superior performance, ViT offers interpretable representations crucial in the medical field, where understanding the rationale behind diagnoses is paramount. This research presents a transformative approach that not only pushes the boundaries of accuracy but also establishes a foundation for more reliable and interpretable medical imaging diagnostics.
