Abstract
The paper introduces a Personal Safety Device (PSD) for girls, designed for live location tracking and emergency SMS. The system uses an Arduino Uno microcontroller and GPS for accurate location detection. In case of an emergency, users can activate a push-button mechanism and send an SMS to pre-defined contacts. The device has a rechargeable lithiumpoly battery and a power management system for long-lasting function. Its rugged design ensures precise location tracking and sturdy communication even in dense urban landscapes. This inexpensive, user-friendly solution could be a lifesaver for vulnerable individuals, particularly women. The paper reviews and evaluates the performance using real-world scenarios and integrates hardware and software algorithms. This work contributes to the growing literature on personal security technologies and provides a cost-effective solution for rapid deployment in urbanizing areas to improve community safety.
