Abstract
The study starts with an overview of the current energy landscape, highlighting the urgent need for renewable sources to replace conventional fossil fuels. It identifies gaps in existing energy infrastructure and outlines the study’s objectives, which include assessing the effectiveness, potential, and sustainability impacts of emerging renewable technologies. We conduct a thorough literature review, summarizing advancements in established renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and bioenergy and examining emerging technologies like tidal energy, hydrogen fuel cells, and advanced biofuels. This review reveals significant progress and identifies areas where further research is needed. Our methodology involves a comprehensive analysis of recent data on the performance and impacts of various renewable energy sources from 2020 to 2023. Key findings include improved efficiency and reduced costs in solar energy, increased capacity and performance in wind energy, and enhanced conversion efficiency and lower emissions in bioenergy. Case studies from California and Denmark illustrate the successful application of these technologies. California’s solar farms have markedly increased capacity and reduced emissions, while Denmark has become a leader in offshore wind energy, significantly boosting its capacity and electricity contribution. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, investors, and industry stakeholders, advocating for strategic investments and innovations to advance global sustainability goals through renewable energy.
