EDU DESK: IoT-Enabled Smart Desk with AI Integration

Abstract
Integrating smart technologies into educational settings can enhance the learning experience and simplify classroom organization. This study delves into the creation and functionality of a Smart Desk that aims to revolutionize classroom interactions. The Smart Desk, powered by the Jetson Nano, features a touch screen, webcam, speakers, and microphones to create an interactive and immersive educational tool. Notable aspects of the Smart Desk include advanced facial recognition for automated attendance tracking and sophisticated audio processing for voice commands and real-time communication. The touchscreen interface provides a user-friendly platform for engaging with educational content, while the integrated audio components enable seamless interaction between students and learning materials. This analysis explores the design and technological integration of the Smart Desk, emphasizing its role in enhancing student engagement and academic performance. It also investigates the implementation of interactive learning modules and performance-tracking systems, highlighting how these elements contribute to a more dynamic and personalized educational experience. Challenges faced during development, such as system optimization and user interface design, are addressed, along with potential solutions. By offering a comprehensive examination of the Smart Desk system, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the advantages and limitations of smart educational technologies. The review adds to the ongoing conversation about innovative tools in education and their impact on improving classroom learning and organization.
