Abstract

This review paper provides an in-depth comprehensive overview of the application of Field-Programmable Gate Arrays(FGPAs) in battery energy storage systems (BESS) using solar cells. The integration of solar energy and energy storage has gained significant attention for its potential in achieving sustainable and renewable power generation. FGPAs offer several advantages, including high configurability, parallel processing capabilities, and real-time control, making them an ideal platform for optimizing the performances of BESS. This paper reviews various aspects of FPGA-based BESS, including control and optimization techniques, integration of solar cells and batteries, performance evaluation, and future directions. It highlights the advantages of using FGPAs in enhancing the reliability, efficiency, and grid integration of solarbased energy storage systems .The findings and insights presented in this review contribute to the advancement of smart grid technologies and the utilizations of renewable energy sources in the power sector.
