Abstract

Traffic lights play such an important role in traffic management to control the traffic on the road. The situation in the vicinity of traffic lights is progressively deteriorating, particularly in cases of emergencies. Amidst traffic congestion, the passage of emergency vehicles across multiple intersections poses a significant challenge. This scenario gives rise to hazardous conditions that could potentially lead to accidents. In order to address this issue, the traffic police have granted emergency vehicle operators the authorization to remotely activate traffic lights. This innovation has been developed and engineered to facilitate the safe crossing of emergency vehicles at traffic signals during critical situations. This system incorporates a sophisticated traffic management framework that integrates automated signal regulation, gate closure mechanisms, ambulance detection technology, and voice alert functionalities. By employing advanced infrared sensors to detect the approach of emergency vehicles such as ambulances, the system is able to trigger automatic adaptations in traffic signals and gate closures to prioritize their passage and uphold safety standards. Furthermore, the system features voice announcement capabilities to deliver auditory prompts to pedestrians and motorists, thereby enhancing accessibility and promoting safety awareness. This innovative integration aims to optimize traffic flow, improve emergency response times, and enhance overall safety in urban environments.
