Abstract

Glottal instants namely GCIs and GOIs are useful in a wide variety of speech processing and biomedical applications. This paper presents the recent developments in the methodologies for glottal activity detection using EGG and speech signals. The databases used by the researchers are APLAWD, SAM, KEELE and BDL. The methodologies are compared in terms of identification rate, miss rate, and false alarm rate and identification accuracy. The applications in which these methods are employed are also presented. It is observed that many researches are conducted to identify the glottal activity based on the speech signal rather than the EGG signal.
