Statistical Analysis of Cognitive Attention in Students during Learning using Neurosky Mindwave II

Abstract

Brain-Computer Interaction (BCI) has become a popular field of research interest. It has some applications such as medical diagnosis, emotion recognition, performance assessment and education are one of them. When used consistently with various learning methodologies for higher academic accomplishment in terms of cognitive attention, BCI-based Neurosky mind wave wireless technology may enhance students' learning and cognitive abilities. It can provide a thorough grasp of how the brain functions, which could enhance learning techniques and boost brain-based talents. This paper shows the analysis of attention of students with respect to various learning activities such as Gaming and Math solving using Neurosky mind wave device. So, according to our result analysis, were showed that girls are more attentive in math solving whereas boys are more attentive in Gaming, and also Final statistics of attention such as mean, max and min values of attention is more in Gaming as compare to math problem solving. This study will help students to analyze the cognitive state of attention during learning activities and also to boost the student's mental reasoning process.
