Abstract
This study outlines the creation of an RFID-based attendance tracking system using
a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, MFRC522 RFID card module, and Google Sheets
integration. The system streamlines attendance procedures by automating the process, offering a
user-friendly solution suitable for educational and organizational environments. Utilizing RFID
technology for identification and authentication, combined with the internet connectivity of the
NodeMCU ESP8266, attendance data is uploaded to Google Sheets in real-time. Integration with
Google Sheets facilitates efficient data management and accessibility for administrators and
stakeholders. The system is built using affordable hardware components such as NodeMCU
ESP8266, MFRC522 RFID card module, 5V buzzer, breadboard, and jumper wires, resulting in
a compact and cost-effective attendance monitoring setup. The paper delves into the system
architecture, hardware design, software implementation, and the integration process with Google
Sheets. Experimental results validate the system's efficacy and reliability in accurately recording
attendance data and simplifying administrative tasks.
