Abstract
This paper proposes a new reversible gate to simplify the design of sequential circuits
by allowing for the design of both D and T latches using a single reversible gate with minimal
changes. The D and T latches have also been designed and tested. The power dissipation analyses
of the proposed gate shows notable improvements, of at least 10.05% while the area required is
6.52% lesser. The D latch designed requires lesser area and power compared to existing designs.
Since both D and T latches can be designed using the same gate, reversibility can be easily
maintained in larger circuits.
