Abstract
One of the biggest humanitarian issues facing the world today is the COVID-19
pandemic. The pandemic has spread rapidly, stopping global travel, and the number of cases is
still rising. Governments from all across the world are attempting to contain, if not totally halt,
the pandemic's spread. Face masks and social separation are two of the many measures that have
been put into place. As the only known methods of avoiding the virus until immunizations are
widely available are social separation and mask wearing. Using computer vision and deep
learning approaches, real-time mask identification and social distance violation is achieved. We
gathered a dataset of with-mask and without-mask labels in order to detect face masks.
