Abstract
In an era marked by digital transformation, this paper explores the intricate
landscape of data governance, focusing on its intersections with artificial intelligence (AI),
cybersecurity, ethics, sustainability, and globalization. An extensive literature review reveals the
challenges and strategies within each domain. Our research highlights the regulatory
implications of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on AI governance and
emphasizes the need for balanced approaches. We also examine the transformative role of AI in
data management while addressing associated risks. The study underscores the critical synergy
between cybersecurity and data governance and delves into the influence of regulatory
frameworks. Furthermore, we advocate for ethical data governance frameworks that foster
transparency, accountability, and environmental well-being. Lastly, we propose culturally
sensitive global strategies prioritizing human rights and ethical considerations. Our contributions
offer insights into GDPR's impact on AI governance, AI's potential in data management, ethical
integration, and adaptable global strategies, facilitating more informed, responsible, and effective
data governance practices in our increasingly digital and interconnected world.
