Abstract
Kerala, known for its picturesque landscapes and rich cultural heritage, has been
increasingly emphasizing sustainable tourism practices. Responsible tourism principles, which
are in alignment with sustainable development, involve minimizing the negative impacts of
tourism on the environment, regional communities, and cultures while maximizing positive
contributions. This article dwells on the mediating role of stakeholders in making responsible
tourism destinations in Kerala, in a sustainable mode. Qualitative analysis of secondary data is
adopted for the study. Responsible tourism, particularly in Kerala, supports local communities,
conserves natural resources, and respects cultural heritage. By participating in tourism
planning, stakeholders can make profit from the tourism industry, in a sustained manner.
