Abstract

The paper examines the relation between the RR(Repo Rate) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)spending by the Indian banking sector as every industry is affected by the RR announced bi-monthly by RBI. It's observed to have a major impact on the profitability of the banking sector. The study gathers information about CSR spends by eight commercial Banks in the last ten years and the RR for the last 12 years. The research further proceeds with relating CSR and RR using a data analysis tool known as regression. RR impact on CSR spends of the Indian Banking Sector is negatively related.
