Abstract
Traffic lights have a significant role in the management of traffic flow on the streets.
The situation at intersections controlled by traffic lights can deteriorate, especially during
emergency scenarios. When there is heavy traffic, emergency vehicles face challenges in
navigating through multiple junctions. This scenario increases the risk of accidents and
endangers public safety. A solution has been developed wherein emergency vehicle drivers are
granted the ability to remotely control traffic lights to facilitate their passage during
emergencies. This system is a sophisticated traffic management solution that incorporates
automatic signal control, gate closure, ambulance detection, and voice announcement
capabilities. By using advanced infrared sensors, the system can identify approaching
emergency vehicles like ambulances and promptly adjust traffic signals while closing gates to
prioritize their movement and ensure safety. Moreover, the system includes voice
announcement functionality to alert pedestrians and drivers, thereby enhancing safety
awareness and accessibility. This innovative integration is designed to optimize traffic flow,
reduce emergency response times, and elevate safety standards in urban settings.
