Abstract
Object detection in surveillance videos is challenging task whenever the objects are
similar to other objects and overlapped with each other. Sometimes objects may be masked or
cover with any transparent or non transparent material. Due to coverage of objects with opaque
materials, object detection becomes difficult. Once object have been identified, it is require to
recognize such object leads to any anomaly in that particular environment or not. There is huge
demand for intelligent systems with the capability of automatically identifying anomalous
situations or objects in an environment present in videos. Due to this, a wide range of approaches
have been proposed to build an effective system that would ensure public security. Intension of
this article is to specify various Object detection and Anomaly detection techniques
