Abstract

We present a relatively new and robust method for automated segmentation of choroids in healthy and pathological eyes. The 1μm swept-source optical coherence tomography (OCT) images were utilized for this purpose due to deeper penetration in choroids. The algorithm is build with an intensity-threshold technique. The method is demonstrated on healthy and age related macular degeneration (AMD) patient’s eyes. The total choroidal volume is calculated automatically. The results are well correlated with available reports.
