Abstract

More electric aircraft technology is the current\nemerging technology for aerospace industry and taking new face\nto the possibility of all electric aircraft technology. The challenge\nis to solve the limitations of existing system like high maintenance\ncost, bulkier, elevated gas emissions, etc. These can be overcome\nby incorporating advanced power electronic converters.\nConverters are needed to convert aircraft grid voltages either ac\nto dc or dc to dc. In this paper interleaved buck converter is\nimplemented with observer controller for more electric aircraft\napplications. For high power applications it is required to\ncombine the converters either in series or parallel and this can be\nachieved by using interleaved buck converter. An observer based\ncontroller is designed which diminishes the deprivation of the\nperformances caused due to non-ideal conditions of the aircraft\npower system. A state feedback control is designed to attain the\nstability of the system and a load estimator is designed to ensure\nthe robustness of the state feedback control. The proposed\ncontroller can withstand the conditions against parameter\ndivergence and has higher efficiency. Extensive simulations are\ncarried out using MATLAB/Simulink. Simulation results\nelucidate that the proposed converter with observer controller\ntracks the reference voltage irrespective of the system dynamics.
