Abstract

With the rapid change and advancement in the\ncommunication technology users are in need of various services\nover wireless networks. To meet this demanding requirements\nnetwork operators are going to offer various services to the users.\nEach network operator wants to maximize the revenue by\nincreasing the number of users without compromising the\npromised quality of service. The number of users served by the\nsystem is directly controlled by the call admission control and it\nplays a vital role in the system, forcing its design in the system to\nbe of utmost importance. This paper proposes a threshold based\nmodel with user differentiation in next generation wireless\nnetworks for call admission control. The expressions for call\nblocking probability of different classes of users are derived and\nthe results are presented.
