Abstract

Reliability of Open Source Software (OSS) has become a subject of significant importance nowadays. Many\nstudies have been done in direction of estimation of the reliability of such software proposing various SRGMs.The objective\nof this paper is to present a different way of reliability analysis for open source software during its operational phase. In this\npaper, we propose a new model based on Non-Homogeneous Poisson Process (NHPP) for reliability prediction of open\nsource software in its functional phase. The proposed model considers the number of users working on open source software\nin operational phase as a factor for reliability estimation. We tested our model on Apache dataset and results demonstrate that\nour model for OSS reliability can describe software defect process in operational phase more precisely and accurately.
