Abstract

In this paper, a WDM-OFDM-PON architecture based on quadrature-amplitude-modulation (QAM) orthogonal\nfrequency-division-multiplexing (OFDM) for downstream and upstream channels is presented. In our simulation, we\ntheoretically demonstrate the architecture based on centralized-light source using direct detection which is a promising\nsolution for ever increasing demand of bandwidth. For downstream channel, 10-Gbps 16-QAM OFDM signal is successfully\ntransmitted over the distance of 50-km single-mode-fiber.
