Abstract

Wireless sensor networks are mainly used in many applications like military applications, home\nautomation, agriculture, finding temperature, finding humidity of soil, monitoring traffic, vehicular tracking etc. Energy\nconservation is one of the major issue need to be considered for the better performance of the network. Therefore in this\npaper, an efficient cluster tree based topology is defined for preserving energy, which is named as Energy Efficient\nCluster Tree Topology (EECTT). In this method, we define special nodes called Data Collection Nodes (DCN) which\nare mainly used for collecting data from cluster heads aggregates the data and forwarding to the sink. Aggregation is\ndone to use energy efficiently. Next Data Collection Tree (DCT) is constructed from DCN nodes thereby reducing the\nenergy consumption. Simulation results shows that the defined cluster tree based method provides better QoS (Quality of\nService) in terms of energy consumption, throughput and delay for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN).
