Abstract

Though a lot of research had been done in the field of Iris recognition based automated authentication systems, still there is always a scope of improvement. This paper presented an efficient Iris recognition algorithm in which two methods have been implemented for extracting and decomposing the feature vector of the Iris pattern. Performance of Discrete Cosine Transform and different levels of decomposition of Haar Wavelet Transform have been analyzed and compared. UBIRIS ver.1 database have been used for performance evaluation of the algorithm.
